This week class emphasized more on the composition we see in commercial/movie scenes and the 'hidden behind it'. One of the very interesting scene that taught me alot was the mise en scene from L'avventura Shall We Get Married. The scenes was really well planned and thought out for example the background and character was filmed in a way where we can feel the inferiority of a character. Also using stuffs like ropes to relate the character emotion and the positioning of the character also give different meaning. The tone, meaning and narrative information conveyed from the mise-en scene really bring the whole show up to a new level.
''L'avventura Shall We Get Married? scene''There is also a brief explanation on lighting knowledge based on fineart like Chiaroscuro.Basically its a technique to make something look dramatic and leading the viewer eye to the main subject. Notan is also a interesting lighting placement technique japanese like to use for the animation.
When the class was about to end , Harry also went through the Louis Vuitton commercial he shown us last week about how the shop is designed to reject customers to go in the shop. Its very educational and also briefly taught me what to take note off when I watch an advertisement next time.
While bearing in mind from what i've learnt for compositing, lighting, space and character placement , now i have more things to consider when i'm working on camera angle and animation shot !
